Jennifer Lopez has kept fans waiting for a new album for three years but it promises to be worth the wait with the American Idol judge hooking up with the likes of Chris Brown and Robin Thicke featuring on the record.
The 'I Luh Ya Papi' singer has spent the last year recording what will eighth studio album in between fulfilling various other commitments such as appearing on American Idol, executive producing TV show The Fosters and juggling motherhood to her twins, Max and Emme, so she can be forgiven for putting her album on the back burner.
Fear not though as J.Lo promises that it's on its way and features an impressive set of guest appearances to make up for the lengthy wait.
She continued: “No, we didn’t do any duets. It’s funny. He just came in and did the writer-producer thing. I love what he does. I love the energy he has in his music. We met and we were like we should do something together and he was like, “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” And he just came out to the studio and we listened to tracks and I was like, “I like that,” and he was like, 'Yeah, I mess with that one too.'”
Heaping further praise on the troubled star who is currently in jail after violating his parole conditions, J.Lo added: “And the way he writes, he just kinda jumps in. We talked for a little while about just life and stuff and then he would just jump into the booth and start writing. It was pretty amazing. He’s very talented.”
In addition to Maxwell and Chris Brown, the 44-year-old has also teamed up with Robin Thicke.
“It’s funny. I actually played him a couple of different songs so he could see what I was doing and he was really excited about it,” Jennifer said of their collaboration.
“He picked the song he wanted to do. We did a song together called 'Love Line' [produced] by Da Internz. It was actually his idea to get Wiz Khalifa on it.”
The 'On The Floor' hitmaker released her last studio album 'Love?' in 2011 and her next offering is set for release on June 17. We can't wait!
